We spent a couple of hours taking down the barge wheel house again to fit under this one bridge -  The Medieval Lincoln Glory Hole.

It looked a tight squeeze, and if we didn't fit, we would have had to go all the way back to Hull !  Fingers crossed ...........

We got through Lincoln in the early hours of Sunday morning to avoid a performance in front of a big audience in case we got stuck. As it happens, there was about 8" of clearance above the cabin top, so quite a bit bigger than Foulridge Tunnel, even though it looked tighter from the bank.

We have spent a long while here now, it was definitely time to move on again, but the highlight of our visit was the magnificent Cathedral.  For 250 years it was the tallest man made structure on earth and we climbed to the top of the highest tower and took this photo:

After Lincoln we were soaked so we needed to find a mooring , we ended up tied up to a pumping station outlet in the pouring rain!

We lit the fire, put the TV on and watched the Queen’s Jubilee Pageant until tea time.
